Wordfirm Inc. sometimes seeks talented freelance graphic designers, especially those specializing in book work. Applicants should be full-time freelancers capable of professional service and quick turnarounds. Applicants can be located anywhere but must work from a professional home studio equipped with high-speed Internet.

We don't currently have a need for new freelancers, but if you apply, your information goes into a database that we will search when needed for appropriate applicants.

Apply by filling out our online independent contractor application. You will be asked to provide the following information:

• A description of your background, with notes on professional experience and software skills
• Your resume as a Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF file
• Two professional references
• Notes on types of work done
• Notes on hardware and software owned and used
• Citations to published work
• Links to samples on the Web (please set up online samples before filling out the application)

Working with Wordfirm is different from working with most clients, removing many of the hassles and expenses of client relationships:

• We handle the marketing to end clients and spend the time to develop relationships with them.
• The Wordfirm project manager will work with the client to develop the job; your contact will mostly be with the project manager, a publication expert.
• The project manager's work order and attached files will give you all you need to do the work, and you can look to the project manager for support.
• Wordfirm pays within 30 days, so you do not need to worry about late payments and collections.
